The National Library
The National Library is located in a short 3 minute walk from our hotel, in a building designed by Thomas Newenham Deane
The purpose of the National Library is ‘to collect, preserve, promote and make accessible the documentary and intellectual record of the life of Ireland and to contribute to the provision of access to the larger universe of recorded knowledge’.
The library is open free of charge to the public. They do not lend books, but you can read in one of their various reading rooms, with a lively programme of exhibitions and events for all ages.
